Final Days – Gallery
So the project is now over! So strange after months of planning and 16 days on the road… I was thrilled with how visitors contributed to the project and the Haxnicks Sunbubble turned portable art studio is now full with amazing art and writing.
These final days saw The Travelling Open Studio visit Cleveland Pools in Bath – the oldest lido in the country! – where some of my writing students came as well as locals and created work inspired by this amazing delapidated place that will hopefully soon be restored. Then onto ACE arts in Somerton where the studio popped up indoors for the first time in the amazing old town hall, to Castle Cary under the stone awning of The Shambles. Then the disappointment of Saturday’s terrible weather – the ground was too wet to set the Sunbubble up without risking spoiling the art at Ebbor Gorge, so I set up an impromptu Car Boot Studio! But then torrential rain so very reluctantly the amazing Blackmoor Reserve stop had to be cancelled. But then the final day at Brean Down – bright sunshine and the busiest yet. I decided to let visitors, mostly children on a day out to the beach, go wild and fill in the gaps so there were some truly great pictures added…
I’ve put it all into a gallery below and there are loads more photos of the whole project on my Instagram. I hope you enjoy looking at them and a big thank you to everyone who has been involved with The Travelling Open Studio.
